Technology

The Future of Carbon Removal

NULIFE’s patented HTL technology efficiently processes both high-moisture and dry biomass waste to create bio-oil. The modular design ensures scalability and adoptability for various industrial applications. NULIFE has been accepting commercial deliveries of waste and operating its Saskatoon HTL Facility since 2023. As a result, NULIFE is now producing Carbon Dioxide Removals (CDRs) as part of its operational process.

We are ready to implement solutions that:

  • Convert 75% of biomass carbon into bio-oil.
  • Eliminate >95% of PFAS contaminants with no detectable levels of PFOA or PFOS in water output.
  • Generate +7,500 CDR per module per year.
  • Help/service industries to reduce their expenses with no CapEx:
    • Waste water treatment.
    • Food manufacturing.
    • Agricultural processing.

  • Carbon filled waste residues and sludges are sourced from third party waste haulers or generators

  • Biomass is diverted from unsustainable disposal routes to HTL site

  • Converts wet biomass carbon into carbon rich bio oil

  • Bio-oil is transported to injection site

  • Bio-oil carbon is permanently stored via underground salt

Co-products

  • Biogenic Carbon Dioxide (CO₂): Captured to offset fossil-derived CO₂ products.

  • Bio-oil: Can be used for permanent carbon dioxide removal (CDR) or as a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels in sectors like aviation and road transport.

  • Biochar: Offers long-term carbon storage and potential use in materials such as asphalt or soil enhancement.

Projects

Saskatoon Plant: A Model for the Future

Our operational demonstration facility in Saskatoon, Canada, showcases the power of HTL technology. The Saskatoon facility will expand into our first commercial facility in 2025. The plant serves as a template for future commercial deployments.

Key Highlights:

  • Operational, permitted, and fully funded.
  • Feedstock secured within a 30km radius.
  • Canadian prairies injection site.
  • Producing CDRs daily.

Registry & Verification

Transparent and Verified Solutions

We adhere to rigorous standards for Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) to ensure the integrity of our carbon removal efforts. Delivering Isometric approved credits guarantees:

  • High quality carbon credits, backed by science.
  • Compliance with the ‘Isometric Standard’ and one the most scientifically rigorous protocols on the market: ‘Bio-oil Geological Storage’.
  • Third-party validation and verification of NULIFE projects and credit deliveries.
  • Publicly accessible records of credits.
  • Robust controls against double counting and uncertainty.
