Low Carbon Fuels

NULIFE's Hydrothermal Liquefaction technology is a thermochemical process, meaning it uses heat to promote chemical transformations of biomass into energy and chemical products. Our solution is recognized as an exceptionally cost and resource efficient technology for biofuel production with the greatest potential GHG mitigation for heavy transport.

Our patented Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) is a continuous thermal-chemical process that breaks down and liquifies organic materials. The reaction occurs under high pressure and temperature, using water as a catalyst to reform the organic materials into long chain hydrocarbons of renewable crude oil. It recreates how oil was formed on earth.  We deliver up to 1.7 tonnes of CO2e emissions reduction for every tonne of waste diverted. The US Department of Energy (DOE) and the European Commission recognize HTL as an exceptionally cost and resource efficient technology for biofuel production with the greatest potential GHG mitigation for heavy transport.

Who is our customer?

Refineries for co-processing (Renewable Fuels)

Traditional Refineries

Industrial Heating Oil??

Who is our target customer?

Co-processors, and refineries seeking sustainable solutions to meet government mandates and avoid penalties.

How can NULIFE help you meet your ESG goals?

NULIFE’s bio-crude oil has a Carbon Intensity (CI) of -15g CO2e/MJ (preliminary). This low CI is valuable, as it supports Canada’s new Clean Fuel Standard and Low Carbon Fuel Standards. For every ton of waste diverted from landfills, NULIFE reduces GHG emissions by 1.7 T of C02e.

What is the environmental impact associated with co-processing NULIFE’s renewable crude oil?

Bio-crude oil upgraded to renewable diesel has up to 90% less emissions vs fossil diesel.

Where does your feedstock come from?

Industrial wet waste streams, such as biosolids, industrial organic sludges and agriculture waste residues.
