Clean Fuel Standard
The Clean Fuel Standard (CFS) is driving transformational change in Canada's path to it's 2030 GHG reduction goals.
Established in Q4 2020, CFS Regulations will require liquid fossil fuel primary suppliers (producers and importers) to reduce the carbon intensity of their fuels used in Canada from 2016 levels by around 13%.
NULIFE’s bio-crude oil has a Carbon Intensity (CI) of -50g CO2e/MJ (preliminary). This low CI is valuable, as it supports Canada’s new Clean Fuel Standard and Low Carbon Fuel Standards.
NULIFE will yield a GHG reduction of up to 3.5 tonnes of C02e per tonne of waste diverted from landfills.
HOW IT WORKS
Our patented technology creates bio-crude which can be co-processed in existing refinery infrastructure into low carbon intensity fuels. All while saving the environment, and reducing the need for landfills.
No water is consumed to create the bio-crude and no-hazardous by-products are created.
This is the perfect example of the circular economy. Food and other wastes are transformed into bio-crude that are used to create the fuel we need to power our tractors to start the growing cycle all over again, creating a true circular economy.

NULIFE's initial approach targets feedstock strains that are already collected, transported, and paid to dispose of. Rather than being transported to landfills, NULIFE collects tipping fees and they are transported directly to us, creating a novel and efficient business model.
Feedstocks used include food waste, organics, paper, plastic, biomass, and ag residues.
