This versatile technology is unique when compared to other technologies in the marketplace.  NULIFE GreenTech's HTL system is able to process almost any feedstock with a carbon component to it and uses heat and pressure to transform waste into bio-crude oil and renewable biochar.  This allows companies or municipalities to process a wide variety of feedstocks with one solution (and also combinations of feedstocks such as sewage sludge with rubber crumb or plastic).  The higher the carbon content, the higher the bio-crude oil yields.  Our process is able to transform most waste streams efficiently without the use of landfills or expensive incineration methods.


Municipal Solid Waste Streams

Residential waste consists of 40% food & yard waste and 26% paper.  This solution complements standard recycling and landfill diversion programs by taking mixed, contaminated, and non-recyclable products and converting them into bio-crude oil. We are able to divert 80-90% of municipal residential waste from the landfill without separating the different waste streams.

Hazardous Wastes

Unsorted hospital waste (NULIFE’s HTL Processor sanitizes and sterilizes), chemicals (sodium cyanide, paint booth wash), agricultural chemicals,  etc.

Agricultural Wastes

Food processing waste, contaminated grains, animal carcasses and manure, specific risk materials (SRM), algae blooms in waterways, pulp waste, mined landfill waste etc.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) have enhanced food safety and potential allergen rules and have become more strict in terms of what can be added to and used as animal feed.  As a result, more ingredients that were used as animal feed are now being disposed of, at large cost, into landfills.  This presents its own issues such as landfills filling up, methane generation and potential for this product to still enter the food supply thru direct and indirect methods.

This is an extremely efficient process for dealing with tires than traditional pyrolysis.  The HTL Reactor generates twice the oil yields than pyrolysis.


We effectively manage all types of products which are difficult to recycle  (contaminated paper products, plastic used oil and chemical containers, silage bags, all plastic (unsorted), Styrofoam etc.

Sewage Sludge/ Biosolids

NULIFE GreenTech’s HTL system does not require drying the biomass which is expensive and produces large amounts of C02.  NULIFE's HTL system processes wet primary biomass, this allows us to take sewage sludge before it reaches the Anaerobic Digester.  Thus reducing operating expenses and future capital expansions.  Additionally this technology can manage dried biomass stockpiles.


Our technology will concentrate the algae before processing.  The HTL Reactor will then transform the algae into zero-carbon crude oil.  The advantage is that the HTL system processes the algae wet unlike other technologies, which must dry the organic matter.
